Henry VI, Part 3 is the third and final play in a trilogy dramatizing the reign of Henry VI, who ruled England from 1422 to 1461 and again from 1470 to 1471. In Parts 1 and 2 the young and politically naive Henry gradually loses his grip on the English monarchy, opening the way to the Wars of the Roses. Part 3 is concerned with the progress and outcome of those wars, including Henry's overthrow, imprisonment, and assassination.
