Robert A. Heinlein
Stranger in a Strange Land is told by a third-person omniscient narrator.
Stranger in a Strange Land is told in the past tense.
The title of the novel Stranger in a Strange Land is a reference to Exodus 2:22, in which Moses says, "I have been a stranger in a strange land." In Heinlein's novel, Valentine Michael Smith is a stranger on Earth, and to him, Earth is indeed a strange land, as human culture is different from the Martian culture in which he was raised. The reference also casts Smith in the role of Moses, a religious leader and prophet who led his people to freedom. In the novel, Smith becomes a prophetic religious leader and frees his people from many human limitations.
