Judge Miller Judge Miller is a wealthy man and owner of a large Californian estate. He raises Buck from a pup and treats him as a special dog.
Jim O'Brien Jim O'Brien is an old friend of John Thornton's; he lends Thornton money to cover a bet against Matthewson.
Perrault A tough but fair French-Canadian man, Perrault transports dispatches via dogsled with his partner, François. Perrault believes Spitz will eventually kill Buck.
Pete Pete is one of John Thornton's partners. Pete accompanies Thornton in search of a lost mine.

Sol-leks A veteran member of Buck's dog team, Sol-leks seems uninterested in anything but pulling a sled with his team. Blind in one eye, Sol-leks attacks any dog who approaches him on his blind side.
Yeehats The Yeehats are a fictitious tribe of First Nations people.
