Phillip Phillip is one of the servants who greet Grumio when he returns from Padua.
First player The first player is a traveling actor who offers his services to the lord.
Second player The second player is another of the traveling actors who visit the lord.
Christopher Sly Sly, a tinker (or handyman), appears in the Induction. He is the butt of an elaborate practical joke.
Tailor The tailor visits Petruchio's home, bringing a fine gown for Katherine. He is driven away by Petruchio, who pretends to find fault with the gown.
Vincentio Vincentio is an immensely wealthy Pisan merchant and Lucentio's father. He learns about Lucentio's elopement by chance but later gives his blessing.
Widow The widow is a longtime admirer of Hortensio, who marries her hastily after rejecting Bianca.
