Share
Share

Summary

Voltore reenters the scene and insults Mosca, calling him a "flesh-fly." Volpone offers to beat up Mosca, claiming that "flesh-fly" like Mosca should never have been able to outsmart an educated lawyer like Voltore. Voltore begs Volpone just to leave him alone.

Analysis

This scene reiterates the imagery of Mosca as a fly besting more powerful animals. Volpone continues unabated in his insatiable goading of the legacy-hunters, reminding the audience how he has abandoned all semblance of self-control.
