I thought that I ate healthy before taking this course, and by the end had redefined what being healthy truly meant. My diet and my quality of life improved immensely and I truly feel that every student should have to take Nutrition. You literally are what you eat! So it's good to be conscious of what you put (and don't put) in your body.
While even being a health-conscious eater before the course, I learned that I was getting well under the daily recommended amount of protein, and I was also not getting enough vegetables. I learned the importance of vitamins and other nutrients that you can only get from eating a well-balanced diet. I also learned the consequences of not getting these nutrients.

Advice for students:
Make sure you print out the lecture handouts and bring them to class to fill in! I didn't realize this until the end of the course. I was only taking a few notes in class and then taking notes from the book. The lecture handouts are so helpful and this is what she tests on! I wish I'd know in the beginning. Her lecture narratives are also helpful. They are all found on CANVAS under each module. Besides that, make sure you do the Self-Assessment questions for every module and make flash cards based on them! If you do this, you will do well!
