    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class for sure. The class was very informative and interesting. I love how there were always activities in relation to our lecture topic. Professor Washington always made the lecture amusing and believe it or not, this was a class I always looked forward to going to. She had an awesome teaching method that always kept you interested. I would take this class over again if given the chance. You'd be surprised what you learn when studying society.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this class was the poverty stimulation. Everyone was given an identity, family, job, and living condition. My assigned family was lower-working class. We were able to experience what it was like to live in drastic poverty situations. From this stimulation we all learned that being poor made our resources, time, and opportunities limited.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Participate! Not only is participation a big part of your grade in this class but it also makes the class more interesting. We had a paper due every week and there were not many tests and quizzes.

    | Would recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to any student who wants to gain a better understanding of the world we live in. During this course we discussed current events and expressed our opinions of the situations.

    Course highlights:

In this course, I learned to have a voice. The class discussions did run long but it was worth it because each student expressed what they felt even if it ended in debate.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Like most courses taken in college, just reading the chapters to finish the book assigned may be somewhat useful, but dedicating time and effort but also researching the subject really helps to gain a better understanding.
