    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is different from any usual college course and it is a very interesting and fun course. After taking general chemistry I expected O chem to be somewhat similar, but it was an entirely different course. Also Dr.Betts challenged us to think, which is another reason why I really liked organic chemistry.

    Course highlights:

Mechanisms were definetly the highlight of the course. Mechanisms is basically a step wise process of how chemical reactions work. Given different types of reagents we would have to figure out how to get an end product.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

The best and honest tip to pass this class is to do homework problems. The more problems that get done the better a person gets in predicting reactivity. Also learning from mistakes is also a great way to learn, I made a bunch of silly mistakes in the classroom and on homework, but those mistakes helped me to learn the material.
