    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This is a very interesting course. You learn about all different types of theories and learn how research on these different topics have evolved as media has evolved. It is very interesting and Dr. Whalen is an amazing professor!

    Course highlights:

Dr. Whalen gives study guides to all of the tests. If you take good notes and learn key theories in the chapters, you will easily fill out the study guide and ace the tests. The research papers are not too difficult. She helps as much as she can. I enjoyed how she taught the different theories by incorporating their meanings into present day and into our lives.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take good notes, do not be afraid to ask questions because she is very good at breaking down definitions, do not hesitate to go to her office hours, and if you fill out the whole study guide and look over it, you will ace the tests. You need the book.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because the lecture is great. Dr. Whalen knows how to relate the different theories that we learn about to the students' everyday lives so they are easier to understand. The theories you learn will relate directly to today's society. It is a very interesting class.

    Course highlights:

Dr. Whalen provides study guides for all of the tests. I gained a lot from this class. It allows you to have an opinion. It motivates students to want to participate and speak up in class more. I am a student who normally is shy in class but I felt comfortable to ask questions and voice my opinion any time I felt it was necessary. Dr. Whalen is very knowledgeable of the information. She teaches so that you can think even deeper into things than you were before the class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take this course. Study the study guides a few days before the test and you'll be great. There are papers and presentations that go with the papers but you can write on whatever theory you want. Come to class and it is an easy A.
