    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Great reading material lead by a great teacher.

    Course highlights:

Defiantly the short stories, they where so raw and uncensored unlike anything I had read before.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you plan; When to read stories, when to write essays, e.t.c.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend to take this course freshman year. If english was one of your strong suits in high school & you love to read like me this class will come easy! It is a 6 credit class for both your freshman comp & literature requirements. Don't take this class if you don't enjoy reading though because a lot of time is spent reading outside of class.

    Course highlights:

Some great reading material, and discussions.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you read everything he tells you to, and this class will be around 20ish freshman/sophmores so make sure you participate in discussions because Dr.Snelson will notice and try to help you if your struggling since he sees your putting the work in!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course broadened my perspective on the beauty of literature. I really enjoyed all the short stories/poems/plays we read as they all were all different and unique in their own way.

    Course highlights:

Dr. Snelson! I can definitely say he is now my favorite professor after my first year at Frostburg. He taught me how to analyze poems more accurately, emphasizing the importance of literary elements. That as well as his humor and radiance, even when the class began at 8AM and he knew most of his students would be very tired.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

MAKE SURE YOU READ! The quizzes we would take from time-to-time were for the majority very in depth, meaning you would have to have really read to understand the questions. Also, make sure you start the major essays at least 2 weeks in advance in possible, they can catch up on you quick and Dr. Snelson can definitely tell when you were rushing to to get it done.
