Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The English class that I took this semester was different than most. It deals more with arguments and how to formulate and deconstruct them. Professor Curtis doubles as a high school English teacher and is very entertaining. She pushes you to create the best work you can and gives you constructive info on how to get better and where you can improve to actually better your writing.

    Course highlights:

We focus a lot on how to deconstruct other people's argument and notice fallacies within them. That's pretty handy in real life, to be able to tell which arguments you should believe and which you shouldn't

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You have to attend class, no exceptions. She assigns classroom assignments the day of that greatly affect your grade. Also, she doesn't post assignments until the last minute so leave open space in your schedule.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course. It was very enlightening and combined traditional English with an edgy twist to be able to add your own spin to the topics and papers assigned. That is what I liked the most - the freedom of expression that this class offered.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the essays that were assigned to me. These were centered around different types of rhetoric and argument. i was able to write about several styles of argument and was given the freedom of choosing topics that I thought were interested- thus making my writing that more passionate. The way this course is set up made me get all A's on every paper that I wrote and this is because of the ability of choice that my professor gave us.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to write and open your mind to all sorts of topics and styles of argument. Be prepared for discussion questions with classmates and digging deeper into thoughts and opinions. This class really allows you to share your voice.
