The professor is fantastic, he knows a great deal about economics and he will tie in current events to what he is teaching. He is also very open to chatting with his students at office hours.
He will tell stories to make things more interesting. For example, when talking about the currency exchange, he talked about China's currency manipulation actions in order to stimulate growth. These kinds of stories make concepts easier to both understand and remember.

Do the reading. He doesn't cover everything you need to know from the textbook in class. While he teaches interesting things, not all of it is relevant to exams so it would serve you best to do some self studying.
