I would highly recommend this course! not only is the material incredibly useful but the the professor teaches it in a way that is very easy to comprehend. The homework assignments are fun and relevant to the lectures and the class had a very relaxed environment. I feel prepared for any programming class in my future thanks to this one

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course has a very heavy workload, but it is also very good for learning C and C++. It exposes students to a lot of concepts and provides assignments that reinforce applying those ideas to programs.

    Course highlights:

This course really focuses on learning the C and C++ programming languages. Homework assignments really challenge students to apply the concepts discussed in class to a more practical situation.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

If you take this class, make sure you start the homework assignments early. Leaving them to the last minute will not allow you to succeed, because you will be rushed and stressed. Debugging takes a LOT longer than you think it will, as does the portions of the homework where you are required to test your code. Also, stackOverflow and Google become some of your best friends. If you're really stuck with a bug, another good option I found was asking a friend to glance through your code because often times it's something small like missing a semicolon in one of your first lines that creates tons of error messages.
