Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
This class is difficult, but you learn a lot.
Course highlights:
Best statistics class that I have taken. The professor makes it easy to understand.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
Do the assignments and all of the readings.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
I had to take this course as a requirement for my Graduate degree program. I was very apprehensive about taking this course because I thought that a Graduate level Statistics course would be extremely difficult but I think that the concepts covered in the course, the hybrid course format, and the instructor all worked well together to provide me with a knowledge of statistics and and interest in statistics that I wouldn't have otherwise found.
Course highlights:
First, I will say that I felt that the instructor did an excellent job because he was mainly concerned with making sure that the students understood what the answers that we were getting actually meant. It was less about calculations and more about what to do with the information and how to interpret the information. I learned how to evaluate whether a survey is conducted properly, how to test a hypothesis, and how to interpret a confidence interval amongst other concepts.
Hours per week:
9-11 hours
Advice for students:
I would say that, if possible, take this course in the hybrid format. I found the hybrid format helpful because I could ask the professor directly for clarification on any concepts i found difficult in the assigned reading. I would also say to read the textbook and, if mystatlab is used, be sure to take advantage of the practice tests and study tools available.
