    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This course allowed you to explore different cultures and social justice. The aim was to interact and communicate effectively and appropriately within a diverse society. Emphasis is on raising consciousness of diversity and using critical thinking with respect to stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination. We covered issues related to age, disability, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, and socioeconomic status, as well as current issues in diversity studies.

    Course highlights:

In this course, I learned about various sexual orientations and what their definitions were. Many of the discussions you had to analyze yourself as well as your peers to dissect how one person can have a presumption in contrast to yours. The weekly discussion were helpful because you had the ability to dialogue your point of view and compare & contrast with your classmates.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The advise I would give is to have an open mind. There will be discussions about sexual orientation such as the LGBT community as well as transgender. There are a lot of discussions about race and many different point of views from all races. Always be respectful of your peers and their opinions, but also be honest.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is enlightening and fun! The course material is interesting and relevant for today. It addresses race, sexuality, ageism, privilege, diversity in the workplace, and more. I recommend this course to anyone who wants to broaden the knowledge on diversity and diversity issues and for anyone who wants to participate in a course that will require deep self-reflection.

    Course highlights:

This course was great for me because there was so much about diversity that I had not understood and had not previously considered. I like how relevant it is to current events and being able to learn more about the views of others who were taking this course. The assignments were interesting, so it was not hard to find the motivation to complete them.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

I encourage students to take this course and to be open minded about the topics presented. I also would encourage students to communicate with others who are taking the course and take advantage of the opportunity to get to know individuals with diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences. I also recommend not procrastinatin on assignments because there was quite a bit of writing involved.
