    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Good information, but difficult at first to navigate the course and locate the OSI classroom as it is an external learning resource.

    Course highlights:

We covered the basics of all common business and marketing software, (i.e. the microsoft office apps, etc.)

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Find OSI and knock out the quizzes ASAP so they don't hit you when you don't expect them - they aren't listed in the main course calendar because they are in OSI. Work on the given assignments as soon as you can, they are surprisingly work intensive, especially the first (Excel) project.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because what was expected was clearly outlined. The class followed the syllabus each week. I took this course online and it was smooth. The instructor was clear and helpful.

    Course highlights:

The course helped with everyday computer information. Everything I learned in the class was practical knowledge about computers. I feel more knowledgeable about my computer's security because of what I learned in this class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate on the projects. They take more time then it seems.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

IFSM201 is an excellent course for an overview of Microsoft Office products that are used on a daily basis such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access. Basic computer history is also taught.

    Course highlights:

Professor Pomietto gave lectures each week on the history of computers and their impact in today's society. He also had in class group projects for coming up with an IT budget for a company which had different IT needs. Each week there were online discussion posts about IT issues going on such as hackers or breaches. There were online assignments which were designed to familiarize students with tools such as Word, Excel etc. The Excel project was a budget which wasn't too difficult to complete; the instructions just had to be followed. The Word project was the most cumbersome and required the most amount of time but was easy to do, it just involved creating the IT budget for a company and putting all the hardware components into the Word document. The Access project was building a basic database and was fairly straightforward. And finally, there was a Power Point project which only required about 10 slides to be built. There was also a current events paper that had to be written, but the paper length only had to be about 3 pages long double spaced and the topic was easy to research.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Complete the online assignments on time and follow the instructions. The Word Project builds on the Access projects, which builds on the Power Point project. Completing the Word project incorrectly or late could have grace consequences on the projects to follow.
