Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is what solidified my decision of becoming an English major.

    Course highlights:

This was a very interactive class. It was not all a lecture; there was discussion and interaction at all times. I learned a new way to view America, our ideals, and beliefs.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the readings in class. Pay attention and participate in the class discussions; do not be afraid to speak your mind but always in a professional way. Work hard on papers and assignments. Do not be afraid to go in for EI with Doctor and get feedback.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor Fleming will push you like no other teacher has in your life. He will strive for you to be confident in your own ideas, and will mercilessly squash out any uncertainty you might have. He will also teach you to write the right way. He will show you how to write an essay that is short and compact and delivers a clear succinct message. No teacher here will do more for your career than Professor Fleming.

    Course highlights:

Fleming was the main highlight. He is a teacher like no other. He does not waste time tippy-toeing around ideas and will teach you to do the same. Your ability to read and interpret the content and quality of writing will be greatly improved because you will be able to clearly see where authors make no sense or contradict themselves as Fleming will most likely critique one of your essays for that sooner or later.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go into this with an open mind. Be prepared to realize that the way you have been taught to write is very basic and that there are many things that need to be fixed as your first essay will probably be one of the lowest scores you have received in your entire life. Also, do not be afraid to reach out to Fleming for help. He loves his students and will help you craft your ideas and essays so that your writing conveys what you want it to.
