This class was tough.
Organic chemistry is special in that it is a field in its own that requires certain methods and procedures that do not apply to other fields of chemistry. Learning about organic molecules and how they effect our biological systems (like pharmaceutical drugs) gave me new insight and inspired other career opportunities for me that I did not know existed.
The synthesis of new organic molecules and the steps and reagents needed. Learning how molecules exist in nature was also enlightening and kind of makes you appreciate how your body works as well. Also very applicable to cooking!!

Advice for students:
Form study groups and most definitely go to SI session and office hours. Its a course that requires alot of conceptual thinking and understanding and then applying them to problems.
