Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course itself was very interesting and it was obvious that Prof. Cousin-Gosset has a true passion and interest in the material.

    Course highlights:

Chapter overviews were almost always very engaging and interesting and key topics and concepts were made clear for future quizzes and tests.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always take notes, pay attention and actually go to class.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This professor is one of those professor who thinks that the whole world revolves around her classroom. She has you sign into class every day. If you use any sort of tech in the class the TA's will puppy dog you and then try to kick you out of class. I would not recommend this professor at all. You will regret it because she loves to give a lot of work. She expects you to put in close to 10 -15 hours of work for her class a week. I really do not recommend her if you want to pass for a grade. Since I have little to no use for her class except for the class I really did not like it. It was extremely boring in class and you cannot even dose off otherwise she will call you out in a room of 100-150 people. Do not put yourself through the pain of her class unless you are a sociology major or a person extremely interested in sociology.

    Course highlights:

Some things were kind of interesting but man was this class extremely boring. You do not learn much due to the fact the professor loves to go off in her own tangents. I did not find anything at all to be interesting. No wait. The one highlight was the fact that she would not let you leave for the bathroom without permission and she has someone in the hall to make sure you do not leave. She treats this class as a high school class, not a college level course with grown adults who can make their own choices.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You really need to be on top of your game for this class. This is one of the most failed classes because the professor expects you to revolve your schedule and live around her classroom which does not make sense because there are many students who work outside of class like myself to put yourself through school. Understand that the professor does not care what you do outside of class but expects you to put in 10-15 hours of work outside of class for her class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it makes you think in a much deeper way about the different dynamics of our society. It forces you to understand how complex our seemingly ordinary social world is and how to further analyze different social situations.

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed every single topic we've talked about, but I particularly enjoyed learning about Social Networks, which was very fascinating to me because it introduced a more mathematical way of thinking about how we socialize and how we spread ourselves out. I learned so much more about each topic and it made me want to understand more because it can be a truly fascinating class if you allow it to be.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise to do all the reading and even do some external research. There is so much to learn about each topic and not all of the topics in the book can be covered in only one semester. When studying for exams, be sure to be thorough because the professor wants you to gain as much as possible from each chapter. Also, be sure to engage in discussions during class because that's were most of the real world examples and applications are understood.
