    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I took calculus at the Ohio State University and as you can guess, IT WAS VERY HARD. There were three midterms and a final. If you stay on top of the material the class is not as tough. Bobby Ramsey is an amazing teacher, he’s very kind and playful so he makes the course go by a tad bit smoother.

    Course highlights:

I learned that this course is indeed as tough as everyone describes it. Derivatives are the corner stone of this course. It is one of the first things you learn and practically everything after will build on them.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Please, please, please stay on top of your work, take advantage of the math center, and do your homework. The online homework is extremely helpful because you can take a quiz on each section. It also tells you what sections you need to work on based on the number of attempts used to achieve the right answer. Go to the math center they are extremely helpful, they break down the problem step by step to make sure you understand it. Keep in mind that every tutor will not be able to teach you because of your preferred learning style.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Great instructor that keeps a good pace throughout the course and is willing to help with any questions you may have. The recitation instructors are also knowledgeable and very helpful with problems.

    Course highlights:

Calculus is a broad topic, but all of the different variations on limits and derivatives were covered including natural log, exponential, and trigonometric functions. Related rates were also covered extensively giving a practical side of the class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to refresh on basic algebra as it is still a major factor. Also take time to do the extra work on Math Lab as the questions will help refresh you for the exams.
