    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It was extremely difficult, even attending class everyday I took on 3 different tutors to try to get help. I didn't think the material was clearly explained and most of the time it was hard to follow examples in class.

    Course highlights:

I learned the amino acids, this was all memorization and just took repetition. I would recommend getting a head start on these even before you start the class or within the first week at least. This really helped me in the long run.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely find yourself a good tutor before you start the class. I went through two tutors that were not informed on the subject matter and could not help me with example problems. While the professor did always have an open door I never found him to be extremely out-going or helpful.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is more manageable than Organic Chemistry. It probably requires equal amount of work, but a lot less practice. Professor specific advice: Record the lectures to be safe. He mentions details in lecture which show up in the exam. Often times he'll tell you it will show up. It's a fast paced class so write down as quickly as possible. Recitation quizzes are easy. They cover stuff that the TA goes over immediately prior. Midterm 1 is easiest, 2 is difficult, and finals is in between. General advice: Listen to AK lectures on youtube on the topic to be covered in class. It helps learn the subject a lot easier.

    Course highlights:

Learn about macromolecules such as DNA, Carbohydrates, Fats and Proteins. What chemical characteristics determine their role and behavior. What pathways they can take in order to help our body function.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

AK lectures on youtube does a great job. Go to every lecture, can't miss them. Book is pointless, don't even need to buy it.
