Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class provides a very good foundation in neuroscience, and allows students to gain a good understanding before the topics get very difficult.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the structure and function of many different areas of the brain from sensory to motor to cognitive functions. These were then applied to show how stimulation or depletion of these areas can affect behavior.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you go to every lecture because all the information comes from the slides. You don't need the textbook, but keep up on practicing and reviewing information from the lectures because it builds up quickly.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a course that is required for Neuroscience majors, and definitely one that will help you decide if Neuroscience is the right major for you. Dr. Wenk is a fantastic professor and makes the material so easy to understand as long as you put some effort into understanding it.

    Course highlights:

If you are truly interested in Neuroscience this class is honestly fun. I could sit in a Psych 3313 lecture for hours and not become bored. There is a lot of material in this class so I definitely learned a lot. You will learn some anatomy, and then how the different structures of the brains function to perform all the different tasks that the brain carries out.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class! That is a big one, yes his power points are helpful but if you don't hear him go over it once you most likely will not do too well, at least not an A (and you need a B to stay in major). To study for his tests go over the power points, make note cards from the slides or rewrite the material whatever works for you. But as he says if its not in the slides its not on the test. Now that doesn't mean its word for word whats on the slides, but rather all the information can be figured out from the slides.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Wenk is a great lecturer and really wants his students to understand the material. He answers everyone's questions and makes sure that everyone is prepared for exams.

    Course highlights:

I learned all about the brain. The course is a structure-function course, so you will have to memorize all the various parts of the brain, but I thought it was interesting.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to class and go to office hours! Ask questions when you have them.
