This class was tough.
Course Overview:
This is a very interesting and intuitive course. I definitely would suggest EE students to look into the subject. But the topics covered are rather hard, especially for the students from non-communications backgrounds. It may get very time consuming if you are not used to working with these types of mathematical problems
Course highlights:
Although the course itself is very intuitive, professor Eryilmaz is hard. The content of this course is very interesting, especially if you are not familiar with the topic. You will see a lot of real life uses for the topics you learn in this course. Probabilities are comprehensively studied in this course, starting from very basic stuff such as Bernoulli trials, all the way to higher level topics in random variables etc.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
Atilla Eryilmaz is a smart professor, but getting an A from him is a big challenge. I would not recommend him if you are looking for an A and you don't have any background in the course's area. otherwise you will learn a lot.
