Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Chemistry is a big part of your everyday life. You find chemistry in daily life in the foods you eat, the air you breathe, cleaning chemicals, your emotions and literally every object you can see or touch.

    Course highlights:

Your body is made up of chemical compounds, which are combinations of elements. While you probably know your body is mostly water, which is hydrogen and oxygen, The emotions that you feel are a result of chemical messengers, primarily neurotransmitters. Love, jealousy, envy, infatuation and infidelity all share a basis in chemistry.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The chemical engineers I have worked with are often at their desks, however if you're working at a chemical plant you will be around the reactors, talking to chemical operators, helping them with troubleshooting, etc. You should be comfortable dealing or working with chemicals in bulk amounts, even though you won't be doing it often. You may have to do some labwork as part of scale-ups or troubleshooting.
