Not too easy. Not too difficult.
It's a lot of work. But, not extremely difficult if you work hard unlike the regular ochem courses. If you can get good grades on your lab reports, you'll be solid. The final exam is only about 20% of the grade.
Lots and lots of lab reports. You learn how to identify what a molecule is based on its spectroscopy either mass, IR, and a lot of things you'll eventually be good at. It's also a good side course if you're taking this and ochem together.

Advice for students:
Make sure you do well on the lab reports and ask TA questions on things you're unclear about. Go to TA hours. Usually that will be enough to boost your grade.
