    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

There is a lot of information covered in such a short period of time, so it can be really quick. Dr. Hable has a lot of office hours and I would recommend going. The exams are all multiple choice and extremely difficult and each exam is 20% of the grade.

    Course highlights:

You gain a strong understanding of cells and how it functions as a whole.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to her office hours, read the book and be able to organize your thoughts for each topic covered.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I failed my first two exams because I didn't pay enough attention in class. I spoke with Professor Hable and she encouraged me to NOT withdraw and try different study habits. She gave a few suggestions. After doing those suggestions I got an 101 on the next exam and I did very well in the final. I ended up passing the class with a B. I am very happy with Hable because even though she saw an F she knew i had potential and she encouraged me to stick with it. I also learned so much information about cell biology that I can spit out at random times and it is because she made sure we understood it. She's a great professor and its a great class.

    Course highlights:

I learned about the different processes of the cell. From the Nucleus to the lysosomes, we learned every protein, every signal sequence, and how it relates to every day living that we do now. It was such a great class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Record lectures, write down notes, and ask questions. She loves questions. She really wants you to understand the material and you need to make every effort to do so.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Hable is great, the information is detailed and in-depth and can be tricky but she doesn't expect more than she gives you and the information is truly fascinating. There is a lot going on in the cell!

    Course highlights:

All of the complex ridiculous things going on inside the cell.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't wait until the last minute to study and pay attention to the lectures. Everything you need to know for the exams is in the lecture slides but you do need to pay attention.
