    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Prof Folker is obviously very knoweldegeable in the subject but sometimes the lectures get dry. Not a personal fault of his own either, but he is sometimes a little dry and he gets a bit awkward if the class doesn't make it resoundingly clear that something doesn't make. However, I did learn a lot because simply because the exams were so difficult. For Biochem majros at BC I would definietly recommedn this course if you enjoy learning the more bio-aspects of biochem instead of the Biochem I and II sequence. Hwoever, if you your stronger suits are memorization, don't take this course as memorization won't help you much

    Course highlights:

There was a group project that Folker assinged us to do and while the subjects weren't the most iteresting we were at least able to pick what kind of topic we researched. THe exams are also very difficult and not many people got an A in the course I imagine. At the very least he scales somewhat generously. THe course cover a lot of the typical biochemistry stuff but with a lot less focus on actualyl memorizating of pathways and the in-between strucutres of the moleucles and instead looks at the larger pciture of how a certain pathway affects an organism

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

I would review the slides and be able to recite them back to somebody else. WHat would immensly help is being able to teach somebody else the material for a particular chapter since the tests are open response and you can't just spit back what the slides said
