Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to any student wanting to go into the nursing program. You learn so much about the basics of nursing. You also get to be hands-on in lab which is a lot of fun.

    Course highlights:

What I've learned so far is taking a patients blood pressure using a stethoscope and blood pressure cuff, taking a patients temperature, counting patients heartbeats per minute and also breathes per minute. In addition to the hands on practices I've also learned many safety precautions that we as students will have to take in the clinical setting.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you pay attention during class because the teacher goes into detail about everything you need to know. The reading assignments given for homework were very helpful. Also all the other assignments that we had to do online were helpful too.

Pay attention in class and read the text, as she does not cover all testable info in class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I am starting the nursing program this spring, so I do not have much of a review to give; but what I can say is that Becker College is known for the very high NCLEX pass rate.

    Course highlights:

The simulation labs is probably one of the best parts of the program! Not only are the labs designed to look like an actual hospital unit, but you also have the ability to have yourself recorded during a scenerio and later reviewed, so that you can critique yourself and learn where your strengths and weaknesses are in order to improve your skills and prepare yourself for when you are on the actual clinical floor.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be aware that with any nursing program, you will have to dedicate a lot of time to your education and losing time for friends and leisure activities will become a reality. But with perseverance and determination, anything is possible and you will appreciate the sacrifice with you are attaching 'RN' to the front of your name and living your dream!
