    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class offers the most in-depth explaination of music theory. The class covered the basics of music theory but also covered arranging, notation, and composition. Jeff D'Antonia is one of the best professors I've ever had. He explains everything in depth, is strict but friendly, and makes sure that every student is on task. I would highly recommend this class with this professor to any Berklee student.

    Course highlights:

One of my favorite parts of this class was learning about secondary dominants and tensions. Our professor assigned us a project that involved writing and playing our own chord progression, which was challenging but very helpful in learning the fundamentals.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

There is a lot of homework involved with this course but it is definitely worth the effort. If you do the homework and understand it, you will not fall behind in the class. The homework, while challenging, can be fun! There are lots of opportunities to work with students and tutors, so there is support if needed.
