Where are sediments the thickest and thinnest and what kind of sediments are they generally? Why is this?

    Definition:

Sediments are the coarsest on the continental shelves due to the flow of rivers and sand from the beaches flowing, dirt and rocks will settle in the continental margins, while mostly fish organic matter and other biological sediments will settle out in the abyssal plains. This is because the coarse settlement only have to be in deep enough water for the waves to stop stirring them, which is quite shallow
