This class provides a great introduction into the physical aspects behind the process of hearing. This knowledge is fundamental for both those pursuing audiology as well as speech pathology.
In this class you will begin to learn about the physical characteristics of sound waves and how they interact with our environment. This portion deals with quite a bit of math and physics. The second portion of the class focuses more on the anatomy of the hearing system and how they work to help us hear. In this portion you learn in great detail what goes on in our tiny inner ears. The last portion of the course is when you combine both the physical aspects of sound and the anatomy of the human ear and how they work together in an intricate system and allow us to hear.

To succeed in this course it is essential that you attend class and labs. You will get attendance points that will help you out greatly if you are struggling. If you do not understand something, do not wait to ask. This course continuously builds on the content you learn at the beginning and it is crucial you understand it to move on. Having a group of students to study with is an absolutely amazing idea to help one another. Also, do not wait to study for tests. They comprehensive and are not strictly multiple choice. You really have to know the information.
