    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Ce 297 is a statics course for civil engineering or CEM students. The professors grade extremely hard because this is a weed out course. It is important to go to class everyday and practice the example problems and to do the homework on your own. DO NOT use solution manuals as your sole source of completing homework. You will regret it later. I would suggest you take ME 270 which is an alternate and comparatively easier.

    Course highlights:

I had to repeat this course once as i always used solution manuals to complete my work which i regretted later as i wasn't prepared enough for the exams. I've learnt to complete my work everyday on my own on my second attempt at the course which is really important for the next courses (CE298, 231, 270). Overall this statics course revolves around the equilibrium of a body and solving unknowns in different ways.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice questions from the textbook as the questions in exams will stump you. Always attend classes no matter how painful they are.
