    | Would recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone who has an interest in plants. Entering the class with never little previous knowledge of plants and how they work, this course taught me the basics in an applicable, tangible way. The labs solidified what we learned in lectures and demonstrated the concepts playing out in the world around us. The course has three major exams and a final- all of which are relatively easy if you study the lecture notes online. Lab exercises, online quizzes, and a few homework assignments are enough to keep your grade afloat even if the exams don't go well!

    Course highlights:

I personally really enjoyed my lab instructor and the information we learned in lab. Although the topics did not interest me at first, I started to enjoy how the simple botanical topics we learned about actually happening in the world around us and how, now, I can identify them. The course definitely teaches the basics of the plant world and is a great introduction to botany.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Class attendance is not mandatory for lectures, but the weekly labs do count for our grade. Focus your exam studying on the lecture notes available online, especially the topics highlighted in red. After really learning the material on the notes, its not difficult to ace the test. Also, DON'T BUY THE BOOK. I didn't open it once. All the illustrations and information you will need are available‚Äč through the professor's online slides.
