Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class had a reasonable workload, good instruction, and plenty of opportunity for creativity. It was an appropriately hands-on introduction to expressive therapies.

    Course highlights:

Some of the highlights of this course were group activities and projects - unusual, because I often find these to be the weak point of other classes. But in this case, working together as a whole class went a long way toward demonstrating the efficacy of the theories being discussed. I also enjoyed some of the art-based assignments, such as keeping a journal with drawings and collages throughout the semester.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to participate in class, and don't lose track of your assignments. You don't want to be stuck creating a whole semester's worth of art for your journal during finals week.

This course provides the opportunity to learn more about yourself and how to communicate in expressive modalities. It is an excellent way to create and learn simultaneously.

The highlights included understanding the basics of Art Therapy, and how to use my personal skills and experiences as a future professional in the human services.

    Hours per week:

    Advice for students:

Be open to taking risks and trying new things; allow yourself to share with others, and in doing so you will learn even more about yourself.
