Many Small Assignments
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
I thought this class was a well structured continuation of the standard pre-req Spanish classes you have to take to get to more advanced courses. It was heavy on grammar, which was advertised in the class rosters, but most of the grammar instruction was done in home and very little was reviewed in class.
I learned much more about speaking and holding an actual conversation in Spanish. The course also went into more depth surrounding all the grammar constructs that have been introduced in the past, and gave more practical examples of when to use each construct.
Hours per week:
Advice for students:
If you really want to try and learn all the aspects of this course, I would be prepared to spend at least 3 hours per night on this class. If not, you can probably get away with just about an hour per night on the class. Also, upcoming assignments are not gone over extensively in class (i.e. what the homework for the next class is), so be very good about checking the blackboard site. Although the essays assigned in this course are able to be completed in one night, it really is to your benefit to start them a week beforehand.
