Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Tremendous course, yet criminally underrated as a course for premeds. This course showed me how the medical field, which we will be dedicating most of our lives to, developed and had implications on past civilizations.

    Course highlights:

Reading primary literature about the first autopsies, the Black Plague, and colonial experiences, for example.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared for a lot of writing. My TA said that, per week, this class has more writing than English Ph.D. students do in a week. Expect one 600 word essay per week, plus two 2000 word essays over the course of the semester.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Great lecturer. Amazing papers to read! I love this professor. A lot of reading but really rewarding.

    Course highlights:

    My increasingly better grades.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are ready to really focus on the history of medicine and read over 200 pages a week with weekly papers then it's the class for you!
