Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I loved the professor- he's great. The lectures are more inspirational than educational, and it is one of the most memorable class I remember.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course is the extra credit. I participated in different studies for extra credit and they were very fun.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to office hours and talk to the professor! I only learned about this later in the year, I wish I had known earlier.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

You seriously learn a lot and given the wealth of information you learn in this class, Levitsky does a really good job of keeping everyone awake and engaged! He also puts up recordings of his lectures, which can be helpful if you need to go back and review a concept. And, what class would have a professor whip out a wok on the stage and start cooking for all the students in the middle of lecture???

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course have to be the cow sound effects. You may question my sanity, but Levitsky's powerpoints are all adorned with animations, GIFs and sound effects. The cow's mooing signifies the influence of the meat industry. He doesn't just teach us how nutrition affects society, but also how the 'darker' aspects of society plays a role in nutrition.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take notes in lecture and pay attention. Then if you still don't fully grasp a subject, go back and look at his lecture videos. Dr. Levitsky personally told us to not take notes during lecture, then take notes when watching the videos on our own time, but I find that the opposite works better. Start the term paper early (especially if you don't take 1160)! I started it the moment the Term Paper guidelines was out, and it was a smooth sail indeed.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course sparked my interest in nutrition. Professor is entertaining and teaching team is amazing.

    Course highlights:

Start with an understanding of the digestive system, and gradually learn about the role of nutrition in health and disease

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Start early on the writing assignment. Enroll in the 1160 course because it helps keep you on track, especially if you're a freshman or this is your first year at Cornell. You will learn how to study for the course.
