    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course is very difficult, but very rewarding in the end. My professor was always willing to help and give study tips

    Course highlights:

The most important thing that I learned was how to study for a course that I know nothing about. Reading before class, and studying a little everyday is very rewarding in the end.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the chapter before it is being taught so that class is more like review

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it provides the opportunity to develop well-rounded knowledge of biology, including topics such as DNA synthesis and regulation, cell structure and function, mitosis and meiosis, and more.

    Course highlights:

From this course, I gained a greater understanding of transcription and translation; macromolecules; cellular respiration and photosynthesis; and meiosis. The highlights of this course were the quizzes, because they were a quick and easy way to review the course material and boost my grade.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

A background of high school AP Biology definitely helped me succeed in this course. I would recommend taking hand-written notes, and re-writing each chapter notes several times to become familiar with the material. I would also recommend taking your time on the homework assignments, because they are very useful in helping learn the information.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course teaches students how to study hard and how their study habits pay off in their grades. Also, the course introduces biology in an interesting way to keep students interested that may be taking biology for the pre-med track.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to study and learned to basics of molecular biology and evolution. I gained many study skills from the beginning of the year to the end that showed as I pulled my average grade to an A.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Study from the book and outline each chapter of the book. Draw out some of the illustrations and always attend lecture.
