Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Each week the questions are due and he discusses them in class, if you're okay with listening to a little lecture and having an open discussion about this weeks chapter every class then this course is right for you.

    Course highlights:

The part of this class that I was not expeecting to experience was the comparison to other religions, often the professor and the book will compare Christian faith to other faiths.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you buy the textbook you will absolutely need it every week. Also save the questions you answer each chapter because they are all the questions he uses for the test and they will help you study later on.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I was terrified when I found out religion was a required course. I mean, what did I know about religion? I never took CCD, unlike my classmates, so of course I felt like I was at a disadvantage. Also, I have ADHD, so learning new things can be challenging for me. To my surprise, Dr. Kay made learning religion fun and easy. He is very funny and approachable, something I never thought a religion professor could be, and he wants his students to do well. We had 3 exams and 3 pop quizzes, but he dropped the lowest grade of each, so technically we only had 2 exams and 2 pop quizzes. Before each exam he gave us study guides, which I found to be extremely helpful.

    Course highlights:

Since the course is Christianity in Context, you investigate multiple "contexts" in which it began, developed, and in which we find it today. You study Christianity in the historical contexts within the ancient world and of ancient Judaism, in the literary contexts of the Christian Bible and its interpretation, in the intellectual context of church history, and in contemporary global contexts. In keeping with the College's Augustinian identity, mission, and vision, this class highlights the contributions of St. Augustine.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I definitely recommend getting together in study groups because it'll make the time pass a lot faster. My roommate and I were in the same class, so she made the perfect study buddy, and I ended the course with a 96 average. Overall, if you study the material and do the readings, you'll do just fine.
