Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is a great (amazing actually) introduction to programming in general and python more specifically. Through many problems and awesome lectures the students have the opportunity to get a teste of what it is like to be a computer scientist

    Course highlights:

I learned how to code in Python and think more like a computer scientist. The highlight probably was a demonstration of the Towers of Hanoi!

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the Psets on time and stay above the coursework!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to someone with little to moderate coding experience. It was paced quickly which kept it interesting, but covered the fundamentals enough that even a beginner could follow along easily.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was creating an RSS feed that collected news from the web, and then filtered it based on time, key words, and other parameters. This assignment was very helpful in teaching how classes and objects work in programming, and especially showing the principle of inheritance.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure that you take advantage of recitations to ask questions about problem sets. Many students don't go, and then will struggle or turn work in late, but all of this is preventable if you ask a few clarifying questions.
