    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor Pinheiro was very punctual and prepared to teach this course, and in return helped us to prepare for the five exams that followed our lectures. I've taken a few history courses before, and this was by far the most challenging. His class was one where reading and keeping up with the textbook and lectures made a difference. Although it's a cliche, practice makes perfect. This course is one you can learn from, but you have to invest the time expected. The syllabus is accurate about what the student is expected to complete to pass the class, and it was good to follow that guideline.

    Course highlights:

I learned to listen to what is said and how to question it. I once before was easily influenced by what I believed were robust debates. Now I can listen to what people are saying and ask myself whether it is valid, and what misconceptions the speaker is using, and whether it's legit or not. History is an intriguing and distinctive class. I'm elated I took this instead of a different course.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Nothing is easy to achieve in life. You have to put in your best effort to achieve your goals especially when it comes to pursuing a degree. Reach out to professor Pinheiro. While going to his office hours and talking to him might be time-consuming, remember it's for a good cause: success in his class. Talk to him about your strains. Ask him what guidance he can give you, whether it be the name of a tutor or for him to look over your thesis before you start working on your next paper.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

You will learn a lot of great things about the history of this world. It's a lot more to learn than what is taught in high school.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to actually study and take notes. This class gives a lot of information and requires a lot of studying!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be focused and take great notes.
