    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Survey of Communication Studies takes an in-depth look at different types of media and it has impacted our society over the course of 100 years.

    Course highlights:

The course highlighted media and their roles in print, news, and Internet. In this course we learned about the roles media play in conceptualizing African American, Women, and LGBTQ American Citizens. We also dived into the history of pop culture in American society, the Public and Counterpublic spheres, and how media play a part in its control. This course challenged my mentality to look at the larger picture of what's actually in front of what we see and ultimately depict the real truth.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Please have a study plan. This is not the course where you can wait until the last minute finish your work. In order to successfully complete the course, you must have a study plan and make time to read, because there will plenty reading materials given.
