    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Chemistry is not my strongest subject, although I love science this particular one has always been a challenge. The reason I would recommend this is not because of the subject but because of the professor. A good teacher will make a world of a difference for any class, especially a difficult one. No matter what your major is you will have to take chemistry, so I suggest you research your professor and select a good one. Check out 'Rate My Professor' before enrolling in the class. Best of luck!

    Course highlights:

I learned how much I dislike chemistry! But on a serious note, this class taught me more about myself than anything. Chemistry is a subject I never took very seriously because it was extremely challenging for me. After taking this class, I found a method of studying better and how to be more proactive about my learning. I signed up for tutoring and used sites like Khan Academy, Chegg Study, and That Tutor Guy to look up video tutorials just to get extra help on this subject. As for chemistry itself well I learned that chemistry is the basis for all that exist in this world and a stepping stone to all other sciences, so I would suggest you take chemistry first, it will help you understand the rest of the sciences you will eventually take. Last but not least this particular chemistry class taught me how important a good professor makes. I started selecting my professors more carefully afterward, especially for more challenging courses like calculus and physics and got better grades because I finally understood the material.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Check out sites like Khan Academy, Chegg Study, and That Tutor Guy to look up video tutorials for extra support and make a study group early on. Select students who slightly smarter than you but not too smart that they will discourage you. Lastly don't be afraid to ask for help or ask your professor for extra credit, the worst they can say is no. Oh, and in case you didn't know this already actually do the homework and keep up with the readings, this isn't the type of course that you want to be playing catch up in, take it from a procrastination expert.
