This class was tough.
Course Overview:
This course (in addition to being required for many majors) is very helpful for other classes- in the first week of genetics, I have already utilized a decent amount of information from Biostats. Furthermore, the course includes a lot of interesting and potentially useful information on research methods and experiment design.
Course highlights:
In addition to the extensive knowledge of statistical methods, we also got a lot of experience using the computer language R, which has the potential to be incredibly useful in future data analysis.
Hours per week:
9-11 hours
Advice for students:
For Biostats, it's definitely helpful to make use of all the material given. Doing all the practice problems is really helpful, since as they will give you a lot of repetition and different applications of the statistical tests, so you will know how to use the different analyses on exams.
