    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

For anyone interested in history, this is a very intriguing course. It is required, but that hardly stopped me from enjoying it!

    Course highlights:

I gained a fairly thorough understanding of texts which I would never have read otherwise. My essay-writing skills improved vastly, along with my analyzing-skills.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Creating a good thesis is the most important thing you can do, both to be successful in the course and to find interest in it. It's not necessary for you to read the books, but it's important you have a good understanding of the text.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is a required course anyway, so I recommend taking it with Jane Wanninger. She is dedicated to her work: ensuring that we students know how to write a good essay, which includes correct punctuation and grammar. She is passionate about the books read, and listens to what students have to say.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to write a good essay, which is essential knowledge especially in college. There are two more semesters of Seminar to take, and my experience with Jane has prepared me for that.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You must do the assigned readings. She checks that we annotate, which may seem unnecessary at first, but she just wants to ensure that we can keep up with the class discussion. When writing papers, do not hesitate to ask for help from writing tutors or even Jane herself.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

He's a good professor and nice grader.

    Course highlights:

The professor talks about Chinese a lot.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Try to incorporate his lectures into the papers.
