    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it is very detailed. You learn so much throughout the semester and take a few life lessons from Professor Markus as well. Being on time is required, as well as your undivided attention.

    Course highlights:

I gained a lot of insight on different cultures, religions, and regions that I never previously knew about. Having to do my own research for assignments really helped in long term memorization.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed, it it imperative that you have a good work ethic. Studying is required as well as participation. The curriculum is far more interesting than you'd expect, so as long as you take notes, and communicate an A is fairly easy to obtain.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend this course if you are not interested in studying constantly. If I could've taken his class Monday, Wednesday and Friday for fifty minutes I would have instead of Tuesday and Thursday for an hour and a half only because his lectures are dragged out, there are many concepts and subjects you will be covering, and you won't be so tempted to fall asleep.

    Course highlights:

Even though I am not majoring in anything that has to do with history I did like that I learned a lot. History can tell you about unknown cultures, it can inform you about your ethnic background and religion, and can teach you about iconic leaders and their government. Dr. Harmon is very smart, but his voice is monotone so even though you try your hardest to listen adn pay attention it can be very challenging.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Because I didn't know how to study for history I decided to make highlighted and summarized flashcards of each subject and concept because his study handouts are too long to study from and his study guides are as well. I also advise that you do not wait last minute to study for his test; cramming does not work for this course, and it will backfire on you. He gives out study handouts as soon as he starts a new subject (usually, two to three weeks before the test is given) so begin studying as soon as possible. Last but not least you should work in a group with a few classmates from time to time to quiz each other on the material. At the beginning of the course I had a D, but by the end of the course I received an A. Good Luck!
