Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

As a studio arts major this class was a requirement. But throughout the semester I discovered it was very helpful in terms of context for art both famous and personal.

    Course highlights:

There are lots of specific dates and locations you sort of just have to memorize but the end result of knowing a bit about ancient art all around the world is worth it in my opinion. The analysis's we made during both lecture and discussion helped both with understanding ancient art and providing inspiration and guidance in my own personal artwork.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You have to take it if you're a studio arts/art history major. If you're looking at it for a gen ed and aren't one of those majors you should only take it if you have an interest in art. There are papers/projects that involve analyzing artwork and architecture that can seem tedious if you aren't interested in the subject.
