This class was tough.
This was a fantastic course for someone who enjoys embedded systems. The labs were a lot of fun (you get to make an oscilloscope) and Professor Bogdanov is extremely knowledgeable and teaches effectively. Every day you get a hand out with the lecture notes so you can follow along and fill in information, which is my favorite way to do lecture.
The labs were the main highlight because you start right off the bat doing interesting things. The first lab is really easy with previous embedded experience, like ECE2049. After that you make an oscilloscope and spectrum analyzer step by step. It utilizes SYS/BIOS, which is TIs Real Time Operating System in order to handle sampling at proper rates and making sure all the data is handled in a timely manner. I learned a lot about optimization and making a system that responds to timing constraints as well as improving my general embedded skills.

Advice for students:
Have some background in embedded systems and have time for some long labs. Make sure you have a partner you work well with and can have fun with!
