Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Lots of opportunities to get points. Lab are easy. Counts as an I-series. Buchner kind of rambles in lecture so make sure to look over the text to define material.

    Course highlights:

Offers lots of opportunities to get points outside of exams, which are the most difficult part of the class. Talk to someone who has taken the class and done well and learn their study habits and you'll do fine.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Lecture is not completely necessary because Buchner records his lectures. But don't leave going over it until the last minute or you simply won't have enough time to learn the material. Buchner is very accessible - his office is right near the labs and his door is always open and available for walk-ins

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because as a student on the Pre-Med track, it really taught me a lot of things regarding antibiotics, viruses, and bacteria. This course was very engaging and although the lab section had a lot of work, it was fascinating to be able to experiment and watch different cultures of bacteria and what affected them, as well as how it related to our every day lives.

    Course highlights:

I loved this course because my professor was so passionate about all of it and really took time to make sure that students understand the material. The lab and the lecture were interconnected perfectly. I learned a lot about how bacteria cultures grow and the environments that they like and dislike.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice is definitely to form study groups with other people in the class. The material is interesting but it's a lot of material and it's easy to get lost regarding what's important and what isn't.
