    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I really enjoyed the way that this class was structured but it is definitely a personal preference kind of thing. Everything you had to learn was basically found in the powerpoint packets that Basu provided so I would just print them out and learn by going through them. It was a lot of material and the fact that the final exam grade replaced any assignment grade that was lower than your final made the course very interesting and unlike any other course I had taken to date. It turned out great for a procrastinator like me who happens to be a good test taker. Basu is very fair and is very upfront straight out of the gate that his course is challenging but definitely doable as long as you do the appropriate work. I overall enjoyed his class.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot of the basics of the business world. The most beneficial thing about this course is probably just getting exposure to the lingo and concepts of accounting which in turn helps you understand a lot of other disciplines such as finance and supply chain etc.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay on top of your work. You may think that you can skip homework assignments and weekly quizzes because it will be replaced by your final grade but you will make it so much easier on yourself if you stay on top of each week's assignments. Lectures are extremely helpful to go to and sitting in the front doesn't hurt in terms of ensuring you are paying attention. The Friday discussions, although optional, are definitely a good idea especially since most of the TAs are incredibly useful resources.
